Lined up to see the seals...las focas
We had a guide who spoke in Spanish, so I got to brush up on my Spanish marine vocab.
We should've been listening to our guide Alex (or Alvaro....one of those) instead of taking pictures...but I couldn't resist.

Shark tank. The boys' favorite
Pez Luna
I tried to get so many pictures of the kids staring up at the fish...but kids move to much for my camera's shutter.
One of the few that wasn't blurry...Francisco

Salva, Cecilia in back, and Alessandro
Pepe, wide eyed.

Dumbstruck

Off to the north pole

The walruses (morsas) were great. Last time I came, they just sat there with their butts to us.

Not only did they come right up to the window, they put on quite a show.
In this video, you can hear the insane cry of the beluga whale,
el canario del mar (the canary of the sea)
All the animals were on today. This penguino was eatin' it up!
Next was the dolphin show...El espectáculo de los delfines
Waiting for it to start with Lucía, Valeria, and Abby

Super high dive

Super brave

A miracle! The girl who'd been in the wheelchair all week MIRACULOUSLY healed and was able to attend the field trip. Truly a miracle. Not even a limp. Praise the lawd.

Lunch time. Empanadas and Bocadillos
After they ate, I learned what they brought in their bags. Toys. One girl had about 7 little animal figures...the kind with the big eyes.
After lunch, we broke into small groups so we could explore other parts of the aquarium.
Here is my sweet group.
Facundo, Alessandro, Luca, Ricardo, Inés, Angela H., Sara, and Laura
Lovein' it
Friday night was another tapas night in our building (organized by Top Shelf's one and only Freddie.) But this time, it was themed. Each apt. was to choose a country as their theme. Our apt. chose Germany. We made sausages ...

with sauerkraut ...

and pretzels (having just learned from Melanie that pretzels are German) with mustard.

I haven't had mustard since America
We consulted some websites and dressed as close as we could to the traditional German attire.
http://www.buzzle.com/articles/traditional-german-clothing.html
I learned the word lederhosen
But from this picture, all you would infer is that Germans dress like huge dorks.
Lillie looked the closest to the part

Then there was Freddie...
Matt had googled "German Hat" and got specific directions on how to make one.
So we all had hats and chose a German name.
I was Gerta

Helga...making a very Helga face.

Ulrich
Bruno

Grettel

Hansel
Heidi and Ulrich
Ulrich actually bought that mug in Germany

Gerta and Ulrich

Italy... pasta and caprese salad

They basically channeled Jersey Shore

The best of Italy

England... They dressed as soccer players, Spice Girls, and school boys.
And they made sheperds pie.
Posh Spice and Football player

Apartment six was Greece... So they did Grease. Coke floats and hamburgers.

Cool cats

Kenickie and Rizzo

Melissa's apt. did Amsterdam and just made pancakes. Her apartment never wants to participate so she gets stuck doing most the work with 2 other people.

Freddie's parents came! Britain comes to Germany in Valencia.

Multicultural photo

England, Grease, and Scary Spice

Alessandra looked as German as a Cuban can.
Lille, "I feel like Alessandra is about to wax my legs!"

Alessandra, "I just don't feel like myself in braids. I feel like I did in 4th grade when people called me Pocahontas."
Der Karfreitag!
Looks like you're having a great last week.
ReplyDeletesuch a fun group - what a great idea - Freddie may need to become an Event Planner!
a little late for this question, but why does this blog format want a security word after all the login ordeal?
ReplyDeleteIf they give you a hard security word, the next one is easy!
On your next blog site (which you should definitely create), we need to find you a better one and more viewer friendly
